Breast Augmentation Post-Op Care

1.     Most blood drainage bags  (drain tube) are  not inserted. Only patients who had a large amount of bleeding will require the blood drainage tube, and should be checked and removed at the hospital after 1 to 2 days.

2.     General anesthesia recovery after surgery will take 3-4 hours. If you do not have any abnormal findings after checking your general anesthesia recovery, you may be discharged.

3.     From the 7th day after surgery, take a sphincter-forming preventive (Singulair). Sometimes it can cause skin trouble, but if you stop taking it for a week, you may resume it again.

4.     After visiting the hospital, chest taping and seams, can be removed while showering the next day. If you have an incision under the breast, you can shower from the third day after surgery. However, excessive rubbing of the incision line should be avoided. Treatment schedule may vary depending on the condition.

5.     Up to 3 months after surgery, excessive exercise (golf, health, swimming, lifting heavy things, etc.) or You should absolutely refrain from breast grabbing (sex life).

6.     When wearing a correction bra, it is important to wear it so that the underline of the correction bra and the taping area after surgery are completely aligned. If it is worn incorrectly, it may be ineffective or wrinkles under the chest may be caught incorrectly.

7.     It is helpful to use scar relaxation ointment (Contractubex) or scar relaxation gel sheet (CICA-CARE) to relieve the scar of incision area.

8.     In the case of a weak and skinny body, the skin may not grow well, and the upper part may become bulged at the initial stage after surgery. However, after 3 ~ 4 months, the skin and surrounding tissues gradually improve and improve.

9.     Sometimes a scar is a constitutional scab in the process, and sometimes scarring or pigmentation may occur, but in this case, please contact the hospital because it can be improved by laser treatment.

10.   If the skin and soft tissues are thin, the touch of the implant may be felt (foreign body) or the outline of the implant may be seen.

11.   Drinking and smoking are prohibited for one month.

12.   If the incision was made below the breast line, the patient may not need to wear the correction bra, but may simply wear a wireless sports bra.

What Happens After Facial Bone Contouring Surgery?

Usually, fat cells act as the main filler, however, once they are transplanted by fat grafting, there is a period of time during which they need a blood supply in order to survive. The reality is that some of these cells survive, and some do not. The stem and regenerative cells are critical and when fat is harvest for grafting, some of these cells are left behind, so the fat that is grafted is actually deficient in these cells compared to normal fat.

Stem and regenerative cells are critical to the survival of the fat as a graft. In the area where the face the amount of fat is smaller, it is easier to enrich the fat with a larger dose of these cells, which means the benefits of is easier to demonstrate than for example in the breast where the volume is larger

In other words in an area like the face where the amount of fat is smaller, it is easier to enrich the fat with a larger dose of these cells, which means the benefit is easier to demonstrate than for example in the breast where larger volumes of fat are grafted and relatively fewer cells are added to enrich the fat. So it really comes down to whether enriching the fat is cost effective or not. Fat grafts will take without cell enrichment, but they take better with cell enrichment. The problem is that the process adds to the cost, and the fat from which the cells are processed is discarded - so one has to have extra fat available. The stem and regenerative cells are also considered to be responsible for some of the other benefits of fat grafting that have been observed, like improvement in skin quality, improvement in radiation damaged skin etc. In general if you have adequate fat to harvest and you can afford the extra cost, then I think there is a benefit, though the benefit from a cost perspective is hard to quantify. Some studies though are starting to show a cost benefit, such as the RESTORE study in Europe for reconstruction of the breast, where it has been shown by decreasing the number of grafting procedures required, there are cost savings. Similarly Sterodimas has shown in the face that the number of graft procedures with enriched fat is less.
