3 days after surgery

Dahye's Facial Contouring Before & After

Before Surgery

"Hello everyone! My name is Dahye and I want to share my surgery experience at GNG Hospital!"

I always concerned about my uneven facial line and didn't like my asymmetric face line. I thought this is because of my fat and baby fat. When my friend was looking for hospital for two jaw surgery and rhinoplasty, I visited GNG Hospital together and had consultation with my friends.

Though I didn't have plan to get plastic surgery and just got consultation, GNG Hospital provided meticulous examinations before consultation. During the consultation, I found my problem is not my fat but facial BONE!!

Before the surgery, though I lost quite a lot of weight, my facial line was uneven and my skin was droopy. I think my fat and square mandible made my skin look more droopy."

Three FAQ about Square Jaw Reduction

Most of our patients who want mandible reduction also find their protruding chin and zygoma during consultation with doctor. As as a result, many patients at GNG Hospital like to do chin or zygoma reduction as well.

First you need to meet doctor to make exact surgical plan!

Today, I am going to give you answers for three FAQ about mandible reduction.
Patients concern a lot about safety before mandible reduction because it is bone surgery.











Q1. I am afraid of pain after the surgery.😡

A lot of patients are worried about pain after surgery. 

Actually, on the facial bone, there is no sensory nerves at all. 
Mandible is surrounded by 'periosteum' and 'sensory nerves' are located on perioteum.
Mandible reduction is done after exfoliating the periosteum from your bone so the pain is less than you expect!
Also we provide plenty of medicine and painkiller injection to control your pain. 

However, since you go through general anesthesia, you may feel pressure or
uncomfortable in your throat after surgery and it will be swollen up for 2-3 days after surgery. 

Q2. I am teenager.
 When can I do mandible reduction?

Mandible reduction should be done after growth period.
Human being's facial bone grows till you become 18.
If you do mandible reduction before 18, it is not good for your growth and shape of your bone can change after surgery!

Thus, teenager who want to have mandible reduction should do the surgery after your growth!



Q3. Which season would be the best for mandible reduction?😎


The season doesn't matter at all!

People say that summer is not a good period to get surgery because they think it takes long time for recovery, swelling doesn't go away as fast as winter time and it is easy to get infection in summer.
These are not true!
These things happen when disinfection, antibiotic and asepsis surgery facilities are not equipped. 
So the weather and season doesn't matter!

Summer break or vacation is the best time to get mandible reduction and recover!
